Taoism (formerly Ying-Yang), labeled The Dual Individual, is a contestant on Object Oppose and was a member of Team Motor Tires and Team Ever Glue Stix.

Character[]

Taoism, a ball of obsidian, is a division of two complementary yet contradictory halves. Ironically, the darker half, Ying, is his good side, while the lighter half, Yang, is his bad side. Therefore, the two are rarely cooperative and often against each other.

  • Taoism takes inspiration from Yin-Yang in Inanimate Insanity.
    • Whereas Yin-Yang is the yin-yang symbol, he is an object resembling it.
      • However, regarding Yin-Yang, ironically, Yin is the lighter half, and Yang is the darker half.
    • He is one person split into two sides; Yin-Yang is two people combined in one body.
    • Both characters are voiced by European actors.
      • Taoism’s actor is Russian; Yin-Yang’s actor is Italian.
  • Regarding the yin-yang symbol:
    • Ying represents the white dot (yang) being the better half on the right side with a milder voice.
    • Yang represents the black dot (yin) being the worse half on the left side with a raspier voice.
  • Ying and Yang had a brief detachment in “Duo vs. Dual.”
  • Taoism was considered obsidian, mentioned in “Speedy or Sporty,” combining glass and rock.
    • He is spider web obsidian on Ying’s side and abnormally white obsidian on Yang’s side.
    • He went from being glass since “Jello is Never Difficult” to previously stone since “The Reload.”
      • In “The Puzzled Path,” he had inside a ruby, initially indicating his heart.
      • He was originally the yin-yang symbol being flat in his first design.
  • Taoism is the only contestant who was a member of The Motor Tires and The Ever Glue Stix.
  • Taoism is the first character created and to have a voice.
  • As Taoism is sometimes called Ying-Yang, “ying-yang” is a less common form of “yin-yang.
  • Ying and Yang were originally twin brothers, contrasting with the Cherries, who are twin sisters.
