Book, (formerly known as Dictionary), is a female contestant on Team Outcast. She is on BFSP and also is a contestant in BFDIA, IDFB, BFB TPOT, and BFST. She is 4' 11" tall.
Book appears to be a hardcover book filled with different information on several topics, such as a dictionary with definitions for every other contestant, an HPHPRCC instruction manual, and a tips and tricks guidebook. Her pages are white and her cover is jade and blue. In the "Last BFDI" milestone video, she has a page on Dora's autobiography.
Book is seemingly nice and caring towards most contestants. She doesn't seem to like rule-breaking, as seen in "Get Digging". She is known to be arrogant occasionally, such as claiming that she will win Dream Island.
There are various times where Book is passive and is not able to speak up either for herself or for others, making her a pushover. An example of this is seen in "No More Snow!" when she considered going back to get Tennis Ball, Golf Ball, and Rocky, only for Match and Pencil to laugh at her. Book would also tend to be the voice of reason with the FreeSmarters.
In BFB, Book becomes less of a pushover and finally stands up to Match and Pencil, even to the point of leaving the alliance. She is also shown as being empathetic towards Saw, stating that "everyone's lips slip occasionally" whenever she kept responding with the answer "eight" in "Questions Answered".
However, in direct contrast to her behaviors towards Saw (until her return in BFB 13), Book is still very upset with Taco and has not yet gotten over her "betrayal", showing her to be at least somewhat stubborn and able to hold grudges.
After "Why Would You Do This on a Swingset", Book started to act like a bully towards Taco, and would try to convince the rest of bleh that Taco was a deserter. "Return of the Rocket Ship" revealed that the negative impact from being on FreeSmart severely clouded her judgment and broke her sanity, making her assume that any form of absence counted as abandonment. It also revealed that she lacked self-awareness of being in the wrong until she curiously looked herself up after being lectured by Gaty. When she did look herself up, she realized how much she changed and felt remorse for her actions.
She also seems to have trouble controlling herself when angered, seen in "What Do You Think of Roleplay?" when she accused Taco of abandoning the team again, and then proceeded to burst out from pure anger.
However, when Gaty and Pin talk to Book, she completely changed her relations with Taco, and even let her continue BFB when the characters split in "The Escape from Four".
- Getting Teardrop to Talk: Explodes into flames (offscreen)
- Don't Dig Straight Down: Burned to death on Lava
In "Getting Teardrop to Talk", Book tells Pencil that she wants to be on another team instead of FreeSmart, saying that it's unhealthy for her and Ice Cube. After this, she then immediately decides to join Gaty's team and she responds positively.
In "Why Would You Do This on a Swingset", Gaty and Book are seen discussing how tragic Taco's "death" was.
In "The Liar Ball You Don't Want", Gaty gives Book a confused look when she dips her nachos in Golf Ball's communicator dish that has been filled with melted cheese.
In "Enter the Exit", Book and Gaty are present in the stinger of the episode - interested in listening to whatever Lollipop is currently talking about.
In "Get to the Top in 500 Steps", Gaty had to intervene in an argument between Lollipop and Book regarding Taco. While she and Book are fine afterward, then Gaty breaks up an argument between Book and Lollipop, suggesting to Book that Dora should do the challenge, justifying that Book wanted to learn more about her. Book positively responds to this idea and they go through with it. At first, they begin to show annoyance at Dora for not starting once the challenge had begun, but the annoyance turned to pleasure when Dora quickly sprints up the stairs and wins immunity for .
In "What Do You Think of Roleplay?", after Bleh was declared safe in the challenge, Gaty looked mildly annoyed when Book yelled about Taco abandoning the team.
In "Return of the Rocket Ship", after Book proceeded to get angry at Saw for "abandoning" the team, Gaty quickly responds saying that Saw had a "perfectly good explanation" and asks Book what's wrong with her. Book is angered by this and begins yelling, scolding Saw and Gaty for apparently mistreating her and Ice Cube. Later on in the episode, Gaty pulls Book aside to have a conversation behind a bush about her constant complaining and spying about Taco. Gaty tells her she has turned from one of her most clear-headed friends to an unrecognizable aggressive hothead. They continue to talk, but Gaty eventually leaves because of Book's denial.
In "The Four is Lava", Gaty moans with the rest of Bleh about Book having to be brought back to life. After Cake at Stake, Book attempts to talk to Gaty about Dora's elimination, but Gaty says that she really doesn't feel like talking to Book at the moment.
In "The Escape from Four", Book gives her farewells to Taco after she switches back to Battle for BFB, saying that she can tell the gang about her experiences once they get back together. Gaty and Saw can be seen nearby when Book says this, which could imply that they are all friendly towards each other again.
In "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?", Book asks Gaty if she wants to stay with her and Saw, but Gaty tells her that instead of joining her and Saw, she friendly tells Book to find new friends to be better at, then Gaty and Saw walk away with Gaty saying that she would see Book around.
In "Getting Teardrop to Talk", when Book complains over Ice Cube and Teardrop dying in their chase for the basket, Taco keeps telling her to keep running. When Taco hears that Book exploded into flames, she responds, saying "Got it".
In "Why Would You Do This on a Swingset", Taco is still stuck in a jawbreaker from the episode prior. Book and Lollipop are both sad about Taco's "death". Lollipop even writes eulogies dedicated to Taco, calling her "amalgamated and weird" which makes Taco angry and "bold and courageous" which makes Taco act prideful. When Book realizes that Taco was recovered at the same time both she and Ice Cube were, that would mean she's still alive. Taco gets happy when Book figures this out. Book then ultimately comes to the conclusion that Taco abandoned them and seems to be genuinely sad about it. Taco becomes sad as well and desperately tries to tell Book she's right there with them. Taco overhears Book talking about her possibly abandoning the team after chasing the basket too slow. She also overhears Lollipop writing eulogies for her. At the end of the episode, Book and Lollipop, along with some other teammates, scold Taco for not helping during the challenge.
In "Today's Very Special Episode", Book says Taco wouldn't need to be killed to be deceased in her eyes, Lollipop agrees. This makes Taco yell, "What the heck, was it really that bad!?"
In "Fortunate Ben", Book glares angrily at Taco while entering the team's plane, which makes Taco nervous.
In "Four Goes Too Far", while latching onto Golf Ball's rocket, Taco jumps back down to Earth to find a way to get rid of the Twinkle. Book and Lollipop both angrily groan after seeing that Taco left them again.
In "Get to the Top in 500 Steps", Book talks to Lollipop about who obviously won't be running the stairs, but Lollipop gets fed up with Book's attitude towards Taco and acts as if Book has tried actually talking to her.
In "What Do You Think of Roleplay?", Book can be seen angrily eyeing "Taco" just before the contest starts. Lollipop, no longer annoyed at Taco and realizing she abandoned her team for good doings, asks Taco for a strategy to find out who the impostor may be. Book gets mad at Lollipop and questions why they should listen to Taco. Lollipop explains what happened about Taco leaving the team in BFB 6, but Book still doesn't believe it, and asks how she knows Taco won't abandon the team again. Later in the episode, Book assumes Lollipop of being the fake for "acting so out of character", but she guesses wrong. After being called safe, Book realizes Taco outside of her team's now non-existent room, claiming she was right about Taco abandoning them and spazzes out from pure anger. Taco just looks down upset over the accusation.
In "Return of the Rocket Ship", Lollipop becomes more uncaring of Book's animosity towards Taco. During the challenge, while Book still rambles about her obsession about trying to prove that Taco is a traitor, Lollipop says "Looks like it's time to get this book's cover... judged!"
In "Don't Dig Straight Down", prior to the lava reaching the surface, Taco is still sitting by herself, ignoring Book and the rest of her team. Book attempts to apologize for her cruelty to Taco but turns around not knowing what to say, but Pin recommends that she instead try to help Taco feel happy overall instead of happy with her. Book realizes that her team wants freedom. In an attempt to make it up to Taco, she sacrifices herself to save Taco and Ice Cube from the lava flow. Taco appears confused by this.
In "The Four is Lava", the relationships between the three have been mended. Taco is unsure about what to think about Book saving her life when she had been cruel to her earlier. However, that heroic act also gave Taco a rekindled faith in Book which caused her to be the first of her team to request Four to revive her former nemesis. When Taco is about to talk to the newly-revived Book until Four interrupts her to start the elimination ceremony.
In "The Escape from Four", Taco is interested with the BFB, and Book asks her if she wants it. Taco admits she does, but is concerned about abandoning her team again, but Book warmly accepts her choice and says she won't force her to stay, to her joy. As she leaves to join Four's show, Book tells Taco that she can tell her team all about her experiences when she returns.
